Why We Report Negative Results the Same Way We Report Positive Ones

Biotech press releases skew heavily toward positive readouts, for obvious commercial reasons. Internally, we’ve tried to build a culture where a clean negative result — a program that clearly isn’t working — gets written up with the same rigor as a win.

The CLR-156 target validation work this year is a good example: an early candidate target looked promising in vitro and fell apart in a more physiologically realistic model. Documenting exactly why saved the next candidate months of redundant work.
